We’re easing into Summer over here and had a mom-daughter date at Brooks Farms while the boys got their energy out at camp this week. This family-owned and operated farm holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where we did our first Fall pumpkin picking trips with each of our babes, and also where we held our youngest son Easton’s 1st Birthday.
They have so much going on year-round, and on now is their Summer Fun Festival with a great line up of special events (holiday mash-up, Sunflower Festival, Teddy Bear Fair, Superhero in Training Day & more!) & pick-your-own fruit and veggies season. We rounded up two baskets of the most delicious strawberries on our recent visit. I haven’t been strawberry picking since I was a little girl, so this was a special visit with my mini me. While our haul didn’t last long, we did manage to save some to try some new berry recipes. Check out our favourite, refreshing Strawberry-Avocado Salad recipe!
The kids always love a visit to their Barnyard Playland which includes so much to keep kids of all ages entertained (hello jumbo trampolines, a Pirate Ship, live animals, slides, zip lines, straw jumps & more!). And for this scorcher of a Summer we’re having, they’ve set up a mini splash station!
Don’t miss a stop into their fabulous Farm Market with all the delicious variety of locally grown veggies & fruits plus fresh baked goods to drool over (the fudge, pies & butter tarts are not to miss…yum-azing!).
