Having just hit a milestone birthday, I’m so open and ready for this new season of life and love the growth and self-realization of this stage, knowing growing older is a gift. What I’m not so enthusiastic about? Noticeable changes to my skin (apparently 11 years of sleep deprivation isn’t so good for the dermis;), and since I’ve been asked a lot lately what advice I’d give to my younger self, one for sure would be “girl, practice good skin care (and don’t neglect your neck!)”
Disclosure: this post has been sponsored by Beautysense.ca, meaning I received product and compensation for review of the Skinceuticals skincare line. As always, opinions are 100% my own and reflect my honest review of the products.
I’ve been adding things to my lifestyle that can correct, preserve and refresh my facial area specifically, including quality products that concentrate on skin correction and protection, and why I was enthusiastic to try a line so many had recommended to me – Skinceuticals.
Normally available at select Spas only, this line is now available on BeautySense.ca. I love a good mom time-out at the Spa for self-care, but also love that you can shop for spa-quality skincare online when a visit isn`t feasible. Self & skin care simplified is totally my jam and I know so many moms/women who will appreciate the convenience of access to quality products online too!
I’ve been using (2) products from the Skinceuticals line for nearly a month. The first, the Skinceuticals Clarifying Clay Masque, which I’ve used 1 x per week and is said to be a purifying treatment to decongest pores and remove excess oil. I love the texture of the clay and the supple, smooth feeling after each application. The application/rinse took only 10 minutes start to finish, so when a professional skin care visit isn’t manageable (because #momlife!), this is a nice at-home option that leaves me feeling like I’ve indulged in a spa facial treatment!
Let’s talk about the second Skinceuticals product I tried: the C E Ferulic Serum – a daytime vitamin C serum said to deliver advance environmental protection and improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles and loss of firmness. There were so many products from this line I wanted to try, but when I researched a bit, this multi Beauty Award-winning serum consistently came highly recommended and I can now totally understand why. This is one of their ageing prevention products, with a combination of antioxidants, including L-Ascorbic Acid, Alpha-Tocopherol, and Ferulic Acid. After my usual morning face cleanse, I put 4-5 drops of the C E Ferulic in my hand and smooth it over my entire face/neck area. It is fast-absorbing and feels amazing on the skin, with a gentle firm finish. After application, I proceeded with my usual SPF day cream application. Why do I think this product is ah-mazing? The noticeable radiance and glow it brings to my complexion ALL DAY LONG! I can’t wait to see the longer-term impact on my skin.
I have sensitive skin, so I’m always a bit hesitant and anxious about trying new skin care applications, but these products are good for all skin types, and so have fared really well.
Note: even though this line is premium priced (the masque retails $62 CDN & the C E Ferulic $180 CDN), you can offset some of the cost by earning rewards with every purchase through Beautysense.ca’s Loyalty Program.
Spring is a great time to say ‘good-bye’ to dull skin from Winter hibernation and ‘hello’ to skin rejuvenation. I am so impressed with the Skinceuticals line so far that I’ll be adding more of their products to my skin care regimen!
